monday.com Emergency Response Team – When Technology Saves Lives

TL;DR: „monday.com deploys technology where it matters most – in crisis situations that affect human lives."

    — Till Freitag

What Is the monday.com Emergency Response Team?

Since 2021, monday.com has operated its own Emergency Response Team (ERT) – an initiative that goes far beyond traditional Corporate Social Responsibility. The ERT works directly with humanitarian NGOs, aid organizations, and government agencies to improve their work in crisis situations through digital tools.

In practice, this means: The team provides free monday.com accounts, delivers pro bono implementations, and travels to affected regions to support organizations on the ground with digital transformation – whether after natural disasters, during refugee crises, or in pandemic response efforts.

    Why This Matters

In crisis situations, every minute counts. Yet many aid organizations still work with spreadsheets, paper lists, and fragmented communication channels. The ERT addresses exactly this:

    • Coordination: Central platform for deployment planning instead of scattered information
    • Transparency: Real-time overview of resources, teams, and progress
    • Scalability: Digital processes that work even when operations suddenly scale up
    • Data Security: Managing sensitive data of affected people in a GDPR-compliant manner

The team has already been deployed in countries including India, South Africa, Argentina, Uganda, and the Philippines. Most recently, the ERT supported communities and fire departments during the California wildfires with free platform access and technical assistance.

    What Inspires Us About This

As a monday.com partner, we help companies digitize their processes every day. We know what a difference a well-configured system can make – whether in project management, CRM, or automation.

But the ERT shows that this expertise also has an enormous impact beyond the corporate world. The ability to quickly build a functioning digital infrastructure isn't just useful in crisis zones – it can save lives.

"Digital transformation isn't a luxury for corporations. In crisis situations, it's a tool that makes the difference between chaos and coordination."

Our Vision: Being Part of It Someday

We'll say it openly: As a growing team, we're not yet in a position to send employees on multi-week deployments to crisis zones. But the vision is clear.

Our goal is to one day contribute our implementation expertise directly to the ERT – whether through:

    • Pro bono projects for humanitarian organizations in our region
    • Technical expertise in setting up emergency workflows and dashboards
    • Training for NGO teams deploying monday.com in crisis situations
    • Direct participation in the ERT program once our team is large enough

This isn't a vague "that would be nice" goal. It's a fixed part of our long-term business planning.

    What You Can Do Now

If this topic inspires you, there are a few ways to get involved:

    1. Learn more at mondayert.org about the ERT's work
    2. Share this article to increase visibility for humanitarian tech initiatives
    3. Reach out to us if you know an NGO or aid organization that needs digital support – we're happy to help connect them

Technology alone doesn't solve crises. But in the right hands, with the right processes, it can help the people who do.
