When Does This Stack Make Sense?

Update April 2026: Notebooks in Gemini

Google has since integrated NotebookLM directly into the Gemini app. Notebooks now sync bidirectionally between Gemini and NotebookLM – sources you add in one tool automatically appear in the other.

This makes NotebookLM even stronger as a source layer: more sources per notebook, better organisation, and features like Video Overviews and Infographics accessible directly from Gemini. The core thesis of this workflow doesn't change, though – Claude Code remains the superior execution layer for structured outputs and code generation. NotebookLM (whether standalone or in Gemini) remains the preprocessing layer.

EU availability: The European rollout is expected in the coming days (as of April 2026).
