TL;DR: „Sidekick out of beta, Vibe for custom apps, MCP for external AI integration – monday.com is a full AI platform in 2026."

    — Till Freitag

monday.com Is Now an AI Platform

What began in 2025 with five AI products has evolved into a fully integrated AI platform in 2026. Sidekick is out of beta, Vibe has multiboard support, and MCP opens monday.com to external AI tools. Here's the current state – including the new credit-based pricing.

    The monday AI Suite Overview

    1. monday Sidekick – The Central AI Assistant

Sidekick has been out of beta since January 2026 and is now the central entry point for AI in monday.com. It works cross-contextually across boards, docs, and people.

    What Sidekick can do:

    • Cross-board analysis and summaries
    • Generate content: docs, images, boards
    • Integration with Gmail, Outlook, and Slack
    • Full mobile access

    Pricing (since March 2026):

    Tier Messages/Day Availability
Sidekick Lite 5 per user Standard & Pro (free)
Sidekick Plus 100 per user Enterprise included, Standard/Pro paid
Super Sidekick 500 per user Coming soon – all plans

Our tip: Sidekick Lite is enough to get started. Once your team uses it daily, Plus pays for itself – especially for project managers who need cross-board updates.

    2. monday Vibe – Custom Apps via Prompt

Vibe is monday.com's answer to the vibe coding trend. You describe what you need, and Vibe generates custom views, dashboards, and mini-apps – directly in the platform, without writing a single line of code.

    New in 2026:

    • Multiboard support – apps can access data from multiple boards
    • Live trials – test apps before publishing
    • Building and testing is free
    • Published apps are billed via tiered plans

Important: Vibe app pricing is separate from the AI credit system – building and testing is free, published apps are billed through dedicated tier plans.

Highlight: A complete project dashboard across three boards – built in under 5 minutes via prompt.

    3. AI Blocks – AI in Automations & Workflows

AI Blocks are the core of AI automation. They work in the Workflow Builder, classic Automations, and Columns.

    Available AI Blocks:

    • Custom AI Prompt
    • Assign Labels / Assign People
    • Detect Sentiment / Detect Language
    • Summarize / Write / Improve Text
    • Extract / Prioritize
    • Generate Docs
    • Suggest Action Items

Pricing: Consumes 8 AI Credits per action ($0.01/credit). All actions on the same item within 24 hours count only once.

    4. monday Agents – Autonomous AI Agents

Agents act independently – answering emails, analyzing data, and executing multi-step workflows without human intervention.

New in 2026 – CRM Agents are live:

    Agent Function Credits
    Sales Agent Make calls, send follow-up SMS 150 credits/call, 30 credits/SMS
Lead Agent Automatically qualify and enrich leads 10 credits/lead (max 10/day/user)

Our tip: The Lead Agent is worth it from 20+ incoming leads per week. Below that, manual qualification is faster.

    5. monday Notetaker – AI Meeting Assistant

Notetaker joins your meetings (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet), creates automatic transcriptions and summaries, and generates action items directly in your monday.com boards.

Pricing: Based on meeting hours (not credits).

    6. monday MCP – Connect External AI (NEW)

With the Model Context Protocol (MCP), monday.com opens up to external AI tools. You can connect Claude, ChatGPT, or your own LLMs directly to your monday.com data.

    Pricing: Free.

Why this matters: MCP turns monday.com into the data layer for your entire AI infrastructure – not just the built-in AI features.

    7. monday Magic – Build Solutions

Magic helps you build complete solutions within monday.com – free and without credits.

Free AI Features (No Credits Required)

Not everything costs credits. These features are included in every paid plan:

    • AI Updates Assistant – summaries and text for updates
    • AI Formula Builder – create formulas via natural language
    • AI Docs Assistant – generate and summarize text in Workdocs
    • Prompt to Board – generate boards from descriptions
    • AI Board Views – custom views via prompt
    • AI Text Filters – board filters via natural language
    • AI Column Suggestions – column type suggestions based on board data
    • AI Workforms – build and translate forms via prompt
    • Refine Text – improve text in text columns
    • CRM Timeline Summary – AI summary of all customer communication
    • CRM Deal Insights – risks and recommendations via widget
    • AI Risk Insights – detect project risks in your portfolio

    AI Credits: How Pricing Works

monday.com switched to a credit-based system in late 2025. AI credits are the currency unit used to measure usage of AI-powered features. They are consumed whenever a user intentionally triggers an AI task – such as running AI Blocks or Agents.

    Key details:

    • Each AI action consumes 8 AI Credits ($0.01 per credit = $0.08 per action)
    • Credits are charged per item within a 24-hour period, not per individual action
    • Only successfully completed tasks consume credits
    • Credits are charged separately from automation actions

    Credit allocation:

    • Since Q4 2025: no more monthly free credits
    • Instead, a one-time trial balance: 12,000 credits (Enterprise) or 6,000 credits (other tiers)
    • After that: purchase additional credit packages
    Action Credits
AI Block (Prompt, Sentiment, etc.) 8
AI Workflow with AI Block 8 per run
    Sales Agent – Call (≤5 min) 150
    Sales Agent – SMS 30
Lead Agent – per lead 10

    Credit packages (examples, yearly subscription):

    Package Price/Year Credits Price/Credit
    Starter $960/year 8,000 $0.01
    Standard $2,400/year 20,000 $0.01

Monthly packages are approximately 25% more expensive.

Important: Many of the most valuable features (Formula Builder, Docs Assistant, Deal Insights, Risk Insights) are completely free and don't consume credits.

    Privacy & GDPR

All monday AI features are GDPR-compliant. Customer data is not used to train the AI models. EU Data Residency is available.

    Conclusion: From Features to Platform

In 2025, monday.com launched AI features. In 2026, it's an AI platform. The combination of Sidekick as a central assistant, Vibe for custom apps, MCP for external AI integration, and AI Blocks for automation makes monday.com the nervous system of your workflows.

Our advice: Start with the free features (Formula Builder, Docs Assistant, Deal Insights). Once your team sees the value, scale up with Sidekick Plus and AI Blocks.
