monday Vibe Q1/2026: A Year's Backlog in One Quarter – The Biggest Update Since Launch

    Till Freitag

TL;DR: „monday.com cleared a full year's backlog for Vibe Apps in a single quarter. Not because the team worked harder – but because AI changed who does the work."

    — Till Freitag

    A Year's Backlog in 90 Days

Amichay Even Chen, VP Product at monday.com, put it bluntly:

"We shipped a year's worth of backlog in one quarter. Not because we worked harder. Because AI changed who does the work."

This isn't a marketing claim. 19+ features, 26 A/B tests – shipped in a single quarter. Here's what's behind the massive update and why it changes how teams work with monday.com.

The Shift: From Capacity to Judgment

The most compelling insight from the Q1 update isn't technical – it's organizational:

    • Engineers have AI writing most of their code
    • Designers prototype and ship on their own
    • Analysts generate insights in minutes instead of days

The result: The bottleneck has shifted. From capacity → to judgment. "Can we build this?" stopped being the question. The new question: "Should we build this?"

This aligns with what we describe as Vibe Coding – and what we identified as the decisive paradigm shift in our Agentic Engineering Framework.

Gmail Integration · Emails & Activities

    🧪 Testing & Iteration

    • 26 different A/B tests running simultaneously – monday is aggressively testing which UX patterns work best. The iteration pace is unprecedented.

    What This Means for Teams

This update transforms monday Vibe from a "nice to have" feature into a serious app platform:

    1. Citizen developers become real: With mobile support, Safe Edit, and templates, non-developers can build and maintain production-ready apps
    2. CRM goes native: Gmail/Outlook integration plus Emails & Activities make separate CRM tools redundant for many teams
    3. Enterprise-ready: Ownership Transfer and Safe Edit solve two of the biggest governance concerns in organizations
    4. Design quality improves: Brand Extraction and the new Design System ensure Vibe Apps no longer look "homemade"

    Context: Why the Pace Matters

26 A/B tests in one quarter – that's not a normal pace. Amichay Even Chen himself says: "The pace doesn't feel normal. I think that's the point."

monday.com is leveraging a flywheel effect: The AI tools they give their customers, they use internally themselves. Engineers write code faster, designers ship faster, analysts measure faster. This accelerates the platform, which in turn accelerates its users.

This is exactly the AI capacity shift we observe with our clients – and what we describe as a productivity multiplier in the Vibe Coding context.
