Impact Beyond Business: Why More Than Revenue Drives Us

    8. April 20262 min read
    Till Freitag

TL;DR:Honest over perfect: We're not yet where we want to be. But we have concrete goals – monday ERT, B Corp, karma offset. Work in progress, but with direction."

    Till Freitag

    Honestly: We're Still Too Small

To save the world. To be a role model. To speak on every panel about corporate social responsibility.

And that's exactly why we're writing this article.

Because most companies only talk about impact when they're big enough to turn it into PR. We want to do it differently. We talk about it before it's finished. Not as a promise – as a direction.

    What We Already Do Today

    The Karma Offset

In our Anti-McKinsey Manifesto, we described what happens when clients come to us whose values contradict ours: We take the project – but at double the price. The difference goes to NGOs that represent the opposite of what the client stands for.

This isn't a theoretical concept. It's our operating model.

    Time for the Community

We deliberately invest time in things that don't generate direct revenue:

    • Knowledge transfer through our blog articles – free, open, unfiltered
    • Supporting non-profits through discounted or pro-bono consulting
    • Open source contributions where they make sense

    Where We Want to Go

    monday Emergency Response Team (ERT)

monday.com runs an Emergency Response Team that provides the platform for free during natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and emergencies.

Our goal: become part of this team. Bring our expertise in monday.com implementation and process design where it's needed most – not for revenue, but for impact.

This is still in preparation. But it's concrete.

    B Corp – Maybe

B Corp certification is the gold standard for companies that take social and environmental responsibility seriously. We've looked into it. We agree with much of it.

But we're honest: We don't yet know if B Corp is the right framework for us. Maybe it is. Maybe there's something better. Maybe we don't need a label at all – just the right practice.

What we know: We want to walk a measurable, traceable path. No greenwashing, no impact-washing, no "we planted a tree."

    Environment, Society, People

    Our ambition in three sentences:

    1. Give back to the community – through knowledge, time, and money
    2. Act environmentally conscious – starting with remote-first (no commuter emissions) through to mindful decisions on hosting and travel
    3. Uplift people – especially those underrepresented in tech

    Why We're Writing This Now

Because "someday, when we're big enough" never comes.

Because direction matters more than current status.

Because in two years, we want to look at this article and say: "We made it happen." Or be honest enough to say: "We did it differently – and here's why."

Impact Beyond Business isn't a finished program. It's a promise to ourselves. And by making it public, it becomes harder to forget.
